April 20th over 40 ladies took over River Oaks District in Houston, Texas to celebrate Heels and Horsepower's 1 year anniversary. Members of the ladies only car club began arriving early to be placed in their designated spots along with display cars from some of Houston's finest luxury dealers and long time supporters of the car club.
This year there were a few highlights, from the Empowerment Awards given out to ladies based on various car categories such as Best In Show, Best Exotic and Best Luxury car. But it was international racing champion Christina Nielsen that stole the show, arriving in a new Ferrari provided by Ferrari of Houston. She mixed and mingled with the crowd, especially the little girls that came out to meet her.
Chopard was on hand to present Christina with a special gift, a custom watch with floating H's for Heels & Horsepower.
Dealers and true advocates of women, Helfman Maserati, Post Oak Motor Cars, Ferrari of Houston, Aston Martin Dallas, Advantage BMW were all on hand cheering on the ladies.
It has been hard to believe that what started out as an idea for one event, has developed into a club that spans across Texas. I would have never imagined that a common passion for cars would have brought so many wonderful women into my life. Each and every one of them inspires me.
Christina Nielsen's group Accelerating Change and Heels & Horsepower plan on partnering together for 2020 to put on a large scale car show and track day for ladies only. Stay tuned!
